Parc del Este

Park del Este The National Park del Este is located between Bayahibe and Boca de Yuma. It is an area of 42,000 hectares protected since 1975, which contains a great biodiversity with mangroves, over a hundred species of birds, some endemic, small terrestrial mammals, marine mammals (lamentins and dolphins), Plants and trees.
It is an excursion to do during a stay in Bayahibe.

Cave of wonders

Cave of wonders La Cueva de la Maravillas is located between La Romana and San Pedro de Macoris, it was discovered in 1926. About 1/3 of the cave is open to the public. There are stalactites, stalagmites and some Tainos paintings. The visite of the Cave of Wonders is done with a guide and lasts about 30 to 40 minutes. It is easy and suitable for everyone.

Alto de Chavon

Alto de Chavon Altos de Chavon is a replica of a mediterranean Mediterranean village. Alto de Chavon was inaugurated in 1982. It was built in stone by the river Chavon. In the village there are restaurants, shops, art galleries, a church, the regional archaeological museum and an amphitheater with 5,000 seats where concerts and other cultural events are held.
Alto de Chavon has an undeniable charm, the place is very well kept and the view of the Chavon river and Casa de Campo is splendid.
